Afternoon tea, Art of living
Great news, The luxury Hotel Café Royal ideally situated in London, revisit for this falls its famous Afternoon Tea.
“There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea.”- Henry James
Did you know the story ?
One of the oldest English customs, Afternoon Tea was introduced in England in 1840 by a close friend of Queen Victoria, the seventh Duchess of Bedford.
Let's get into the story, the Duchess would have asked for a cup of tea, bread, butter and cakes to be brought to her room in the middle of the afternoon in order to appease "that feeling of hunger" that she felt between lunch and dinner.
You know what I mean, don't you?
Becoming a true art of living, she then decided to invite her friends from high society to join her. Naturally, this new custom became a fashionable social event!
Served in the Oscar Wilde Lounge, the renowned British capital institution, the Hotel Café Royal, presents a new version of its iconic Afternoon Tea, starting this fall.
